ARE YOU READY FOR A CHALLENGE?
First of
all, I want to thank all councils who have successfully increased their
membership! You’ve proven
that it can be done!
Membership
recruitment, however, doesn’t end after your major membership drive. We still have many women who have not
joined the Catholic Women’s league of
If your current membership is -
25 or less,
recruit ONE new member;
between
25 and 60 members, recruit TWO new
members;
between
60 and 100 members, recruit THREE
new members;
over 100
members, recruit FOUR new members.
Of course,
MORE would be even better! As you
know, our president Danielle challenged us to achieving an over-all increase of
10% by the end of her two-year term.
It can be
done! I’m certain that each
one of us knows at least one woman in our parish that could be a member; step
forward and ask her to join!
When you
submit the names of those new members to national office, please note that
these are the “CHALLENGE” members. I will ask Diane Havens to keep a tally
so we can know how well we’ve done. We’ll set a deadline date of
October 31st for this “Membership Challenge Blitz”. There’ll be prizes! Meet the challenge and you could be a
winner! We’ll all be winners
as we successfully achieve our 10% increase in membership!
Remember
April 26th is our day of action for peace and hope. Invite non-members to the event
you’ve planned; it can be their introduction to our sisterhood of faith,
fun and fulfillment (and they may well become your “challenge”
members)!
I’m
confident that you are up to the challenge. Good luck!

Update April 21, 2009
I have
great news to share! Having just
received our March 31, 2009 membership statistics, EVERY province shows an
increase in membership compared to March 31, 2008! A substantial number of councils have
met, and surpassed, Danielle’s challenge of a 10% increase! Ladies, we are on a roll! I’m really confident that we can
reach a minimum of 100,000 members by convention in August. BUT, we can’t stop now! Our spring mailing is being received by
every parish council and, in my memo to Organization chairpersons,
I have issued a challenge asking councils with
- 25 or
less members, to
recruit at least ONE new member
- between 26 and 60 members, recruit at least TWO new members
- between 61 and 100 members, recruit at least THREE new
members
- over 100 members, recruit at least FOUR new members
MORE is
accepted!!
When submitting
the names of these new members to national office, it must be noted that these
are the ‘CHALLENGE’ members.
National will be keeping track of the numbers.
PLEASE keep
encouraging membership recruitment and retention, do your best to promote this
challenge and ask your diocesan counterparts to do the same. With all of us
working together, we can easily achieve a 10% increase, and MORE!
